Update Three

Upon finishing my scripts and creating the mechanics for the game to run on, I could start focusing on level design and creating the models I would use. As I had to hand in half of the project at the end of the first semester, I estimated the game would be in a fairly complete state, with the game mechanics and level 1 already being completed.
This meant I only had a number of weeks to get the first level built and in a playable state.

To start I began designing a rough layout for the level and sketched some of the objects I wanted to model.

I created a number of assets within Cinema 4D that I could save out as .Obj’s and import into Unity3D.

These could then be placed into the scene and given dynamic abilities such as collider tags to stop the player walking through them. I also added particle systems to certain elements to give the impression of a living game world.
