Having modelled my assets I could now bring these into Unity and lay them out accordingly. Following the map designs for my original game I created a desert, a woods and a city level.
I also had to create colliders for the objects so they could be baked into the walkable area and the characters would not collide with them.
I next had to create some seamless floor textures for the terrain’s I would be using. To do this I used a bunch of existing floors I could find on google and traced the different elements I needed in Photoshop. I could then add the same overlay as I have on my 3D objects.
I could apply these textures through the terrain tool and paint them on to the surface, achieving a nice mix between them.
